The Boone Central bowling teams competed in week seven pod tournament competition at Kings Lanes in Norfolk Sunday.
The Boone Central girls placed third, just seven pins behind tournament runner-up Newman Grove. The Cardinals rolled a 1,464 series in individual bowling and had a 551 ‘baker’ series. One half of the individual series (732) and the baker score gave BC its 1,283 final total.
Wayne (1,590.5) was the girls champion, followed by Newman Grove (1,290), Boone Central, Norfolk Catholic (1,205.5), Hartington (1,119.5) and Plainview (1,101.5).
Niah Kahlandt had an impressive day, placing second among individual bowlers with a 441 series (165/167/109). Shaylyn Cornwell was eighth with a series of 381 (114/134/133). Also bowling for the Cardinal varsity were Destiny Umbarger (89/146), Emma Nelson (118/95), Mataya Johnson (109) and Lauren Kohtz (85).
The Boone Central boys finished fifth with a 1,402.5 final score. The Cards had a 1,553 series in individual competition and a 626 ‘baker’ series.
Plainview (1,717) was the boys champion, trailed by Wayne (1,715), Hartington (1,682.5), Norfolk Catholic (1,466.5) and Boone Central.
Cardinal bowlers weere Chris Preister (123/191/130-444), James Erickson (123/134), Garrett Grosch (118/122), Tim Woebbecke (187) and Landin Pribnow (121).
