Boone Central bowlers set for state tournament

Boone Central bowling teams will compete in the Nebraska High School Bowling Association Class C/D State Tournament competition Sunday, Feb. 16, at Kings Lanes in Norfolk.
The Class C/D state tournament field is comprised of the six teams that competed against each other in nine regular-season pod tournaments.

Following are the final regular-season team standings for Class C/D varsity competition. Teams received a descending number of points for their finish in each tournament, with the winner receiving 6 points.
C/D Varsity Girls: 1- Wayne 44, 2- Boone Central 34, 3- Newman Grove 34, 4- Norfolk Catholic 26, 5- Plainview 21, 6- Hartington 19.
C/D Varsity Boys: 1- Wayne 44, 2- Plainview 39, 3- Hartington 39, 4- Norfolk Catholic 27, 5- Boone Central 17, 6- Wisner-Pilger 17.
Wayne and Boone Central will face each other in a JV state tournament competition. Wayne had 30 regular-season points in JV bowling and Boone Central finished with 23.

Boone Central team members attending the state tournament for varsity/JV competition are, (Seniors) Shaylyn Cornwell, Destiny Umbarger, Niah Kahlandt, (Juniors) Mataya Johnson, Lauren Kohtz, Emma Nelson, Lilly Reel, Esther Uma, (Sophomore) Sadie Goodwater, (Seniors) Garrett Grosch, Chris Preister, Landin Pribnow, (Juniors) Dylan Meyer, Matt Starman, (Sophomores) Jacob Devine, James Erickson, Harrison Dodds, Tim Woebbecke.
