BCHC project awaits completion of lot requirements

FUTURE ADDITION — Photo looking north from Eighth and South Streets, shows the area’s old swimming pool property (foreground) and parking lot south of the Boone County Medical Clinic.
Much of the planning process is complete for Boone County Health Center’s new 44,000 square foot outpatient expansion plan.
However, the purchase of lots for the project requires some steps that have taken some time and are not yet completed.
BCHC plans to build the addition south of the present clinic area, closing a portion of Fuller Street south of the hospital, and using the existing south parking lot, as well as the six lots where the old Albion Swimming Pool was located.
A Land and Water Conservation Grant was obtained for the old pool project, and some requirements must be met before that land can be transferred to BCHC ownership.
