School board hires new teachers, approves guidelines for after school program

Four new teacher contracts for 2020-21 were approved Monday night, March 9, at a busy Boone Central School Board meeting in Petersburg.
New teacher contracts were approved for Danielle Koch, who will teach third grade next year; Lila Wondercheck, who will teach fifth grade; Maureen Thome, who will teach K-5 elementary music, and Payton Rasmussen, who will teach second grade.
The board also approved 2020-21 contracts for Craig Theis, elementary principal; Bill Curry, middle school principal and curriculum director; Erik Kravig, high school principal, and Jon Perone, activities director.
Each administrator will receive a 2.5 percent salary increase for next year.
Superintendent Nicole Hardwick also introduced Lauren Mrsny to the board. She is now in training to take the position of Gay Sandman, district bookkeeper, when Gay retires in September 2020.
Cardinal Kids Club
Administration of the before-and after-school program, Cardinal Kids Club, will be administered by Boone Central Public Schools starting next year
The board also adopted guidelines and supervisory job descriptions for the Cardinal Kids Club, which will become a Boone Central program starting with the 2020-21 school year.
