No need to ask for early ballot; all will be mailed

Since Boone County is a “by mail” only county for the 2020 election cycle, there is no need for voters to request early or absentee ballots for the May 12 primary election.
All ballots will be mailed to all of Boone County’s registered voters on April 22, 2020.
The only voters who need to make a change or request are those who have moved to a different address, wish to change party affiliation, or are new residents.
A recent news release by the Nebraska Secretary of State’s office regarding early ballot requests applies only to counties that will have polling places.
Mail-in ballots for the primary election must be returned to the County Clerk office by 8 p.m. on May 12.
