Albion city and use sales tax receipts showed an increase in February of 2020, before the coronavirus outbreak changed business activity across Nebraska.
The February 2020 sales and use tax total was $53,324, an increase of $5,503 or about 12 percent from the February 2019 total of $47,821.
The February total was also more than $5,000 higher than the January 2020 total of $47,695.
For the first seven months of the 2019-20 fiscal year, sales and use tax receipts were running 2.3 percent higher than the same period of the previous year.
Motor vehicle sales tax receipts were running near the monthly average in February at $3,828, and were up about 53 percent from the January total of $2,490.
