Primary election ballots must be returned by May 12 to count

Boone County voters are reminded they must return their completed primary election ballots by 8 p.m. on election day next Tuesday, May 12, to the Boone County Clerk’s office in order to have it counted in the election.
Ballots were mailed out on April 22 to all registered voters. About 44 percent of completed ballots had been returned by May 2.
The primary ballot includes races for Republican, Democratic and Libertarian races for President, for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Ben Sasse, and for the Third District Congress seat currently held by Adrian Smith.
There is only one non-partisan seat included in the primary election — the District 41 seat in the Nebraska Legislature. Incumbent Tom Briese of Albion is running unopposed for re-election to that seat.
There will be no in-person polling places in Boone County this year. Voters in all precincts have received their ballots by mail.
