Brugman is new assistant economic developer in Neligh

Briana Brugman, an Albion native, has been hired as assistant economic development director for the City of Neligh.
She will start the position Monday, June 1, and will also serve as director of the Neligh Chamber of Commerce and provide economic assistance to Clearwater.
Brugman is a 2015 graduate of Boone Central High School. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in education and human sciences, majoring in hospitality, restaurant and tourism management.
Brianna also earned certification as a baking and pastry chef from Metro Community College, Omaha, and has served as head pastry chef at Attitude on Food, an Omaha catering company, since 2018.
Brianna said she is “very excited” to begin the new position at Neligh and be closer to home.
She is the daughter of Tom and Jacquie Brugman of Albion, and is engaged to Billy O’Brien of Newman Grove. They plan to be married in August of this year.
