Boone County Fair to proceed in July with changes

There will be a Boone County Fair on July 11-15, 2020, but changes have been made due to directed health measures for COVID-19.
Certain entertainment events were canceled and others were confirmed on the schedule during a meeting of the fair board Monday night, June 1.
The fair board met for four hours, reviewing both the new directed health measures and the fair schedule to decide which events would be held and which would be canceled or postponed.
Fair board members agreed that directed health measures in July will need to be followed, with limits on attendance, screenings, sanitizing measures as directed.
The two primary evening entertainment events that will not be held in 2020 are:
Country Music Concert — The planned July 14 concert featuring Sawyer Brown and special guest Parmalee won’t be held in 2020, but the artists can be contracted for corresponding dates in 2021.
Concert Refunds – Any concert tickets purchased from the fair website will be reimbursed through their form of payment within seven to 14 days. Any uncashed checks will be returned within seven to 14 days.
Monster Truck Show – This new event, originally scheduled for Monday night, July 14, has also been postponed to 2021. No advance tickets had been sold for this event.
