Scouts replace crosses at Orford Cemetery

Sign identifying the Orford Cemetery, which is located between Loretto and Petersburg on Niewohner Farms land.
Albion Boy Scout Troop 155 members and leaders replaced wooden crosses with metal crosses at the Orford Pioneer Cemetery south of Petersburg last Saturday, June 6. Their assistance was requested by Linda Jordan.
Participating were Grant Kuta, Tim Woebbecke, Wyatt Kettelson, Nate Kettelson, Zack Boilesen, and leaders Mike Kuta, Linda Jordan, Dave Woebbecke, Brian Mock, Kevin Boilesen and Kurt Kettelson.
The new crosses were made by Clyde Stuhr at Patriot’s Landing, Petersburg, and will allow the cemetery to withstand future controlled burns by the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department.
Junior Pirates 4-H Club has helped maintain this cemetery for many years.
