Boone Beginnings Early Childhood and Family Development Center project is on track to break ground late summer of 2020, according to a recent announcement by the planning committee.
RDG Planning and Design and Sentinel Building Systems have been collaborating on the building design. Sentinel has created a steel structure to house the facility while RDG has designed the interior to be a developmentally appropriate and high-quality environment for children from six weeks to five years old.
The designers at RDG are experts in designing early learning environments and travel throughout the country helping construct these facilities. The facility will reflect the culture of Boone County. It emphasizes agriculture, and those elements are woven throughout the design. The facility is meant to be accessible for children to learn, touch and explore.
Targeted opening of the Boone Beginnings facility is the summer of 2021, and community input will be sought along the way, the committee stated.
