The summer of 2020 will be remembered by many local teens as the summer of quarantine, limited friend contact, and endless video games.
For one of Albion’s teens, this summer was so much more than that. Bella Meyer, daughter of Rob and Elizabeth Meyer of Albion has taken the social distancing seriously but she has used this time to build upon her talents.
Bella was recently recognized by the Omaha Bar Association and the Nebraska Lawyer Association for an essay entitled “Our Voices in Democracy” in which she reflects on Susan B. Anthony and the 19th Amendment.
She also entered material in a youth expression contest sponsored by the Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence, and two of her pieces were selected to be published in among 50 in a book produces by the coalition.
In addition, she won first place in an essay contest sponsored by Conservation Nebraska.
