Friday’s final checkers culminated an ultimately successful summer season at the Boone County Raceway that received the green flag late and was shortened by the COVID-19 situation.
Cory Dumpert (77) of York took a hefty 21 point lead into Championship Night racing and topped off the abbreviated 2020 BCR season by winning the highlighted Late Model A Feature race.
Point leader Kyle Prauner (5K) of Norfolk finished second to Brian Osantowski (999) of Columbus in the Sport Modified A Feature, but apparently locked up another BCR championship as second-place James Roebuck (75) of Genoa placed ninth.
Stock Car point leader Austin Brauner (10A) of Platte Center placed fourth in Friday’s A Feature race, but had a 26 point cushion entering the final night.
The final class point leader, Jeff Ware (83) of Columbus, appeared to make it a clean sweep by winning the final Hobby Stock A Feature of 2020.
