Boone Central last week joined a number of other Nebraska high schools forced to cancel some activities due to positive COVID-19 tests of students and/or school staff.
Contests for both football and volleyball were canceled last week from Thursday through Monday, Sept. 17-21.
This week, the school also canceled middle school and high school football contests from Thursday through Monday, Sept. 24-28. Practices were also suspended for football only.
Effective Monday, Sept. 21, the school moved from the “green” or low risk of spread status to the “yellow” or moderate risk status.
As of Monday noon, the school listed seven students or staff who were currently isolated due to a positive COVID test or diagnosis, and 45 students or staff who were currently in quarantine due to exposure.
