COVID-19 tests suspend several Card activities

Several Boone Central athletic activities were suspended by postitive COVID-19 tests this past week. Boone Central schools also announced Monday that competition on the football field will continue to be interrupted this week, pending further developments.
Thursday, Sept. 17, Boone Central announced that the Cardinal volleyball program would not be able to participate in a home triangular event that night, the Central City Invitational tournament Saturday and Monday’s freshmen contest at Elgin. Boone Central’s scheduled varsity and JV football games vs. Central City Friday and Monday were also cancelled, as was middle school football competition.
Monday, Boone Central Schools administration released the following announcement regarding activitiesf:
Due to COVID related reasons, we are extending our suspensions for the following activities –
High School football Friday, Sept. 25 (varsity at Pierce) and Monday, Sept. 28 (freshmen/sophomore vs. O’Neill), with all practices suspended;
Middle School football Thursday, Sept. 24 (vs. Lakeview), with practices resuming tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept. 22).
All other activities are back in action this week while following guidelines.
At this time we will also be adjusting our facility guidelines for all activities. Boone Central Schools will keep everyone updated as it makes these adjustments.
