Max Alwyn Porter, 89, of Alma, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020 at the Harlan County Health System in Alma.
Max leaves to celebrate his life; his wife Barbara Porter of Alma, son Jerre Porter (Kayleen Logan) of Rock Springs, WW, two daughters: Jeanette Marfield (Jim) of Platte City, MO and Jennifer Byarlay (Doug) of Randolph, KS, grandchildren: Erikka Jehle (Cole), Andrea Villafuerte (Jorge), Allison Hanks (Aaron), James Marfield (Theresa), Jason Marfield (Marissa), Dr. Ashlin Porter (Dr. Mark Romanczyk), Chelsea Laughlin, Dr. Shelby Porter, Colby Byarlay (Sarah), Eric Byarlay, Ariel Divilbiss (Whit); great grandchildren: Isaac, Anthony and Natalie Rose Villafuerte and Ailish Laughlin, brother Rod Porter of Fort Collins, CO, sister-in-law Shirley Porter of Casper, WW, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, six siblings, five sisters: Shirley Kendrick, Margaret Hamel, Barbara Breazile and LeAnn Wurtele, two brothers: Donovan Porter and Lyle Porter.
Memorial Book Signing will be held on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma.
A Celebration of Life Services for Max A. Porter will be held at a later date. A Private Family Inurnment will be at the Alma Cemetery, Alma.
A memorial has been established in Max’s honor and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
