Larger increase in county’s COVID cases this week

During the past week, Boone County passed 360 total COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began. The county’s case numbers climbed at a higher rate, with 43 new cases in the seven-day period from Dec. 15-22.
All counties in the East Central District Health Department (ECDHD) remain in the red or “highest risk” category for COVID spread.
As of Tuesday morning, Dec. 8, Boone County had 361 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began, an increase of 43 cases since Dec. 1.
The county had 76 additional positive tests in the past 14 days, and two deaths are now officially listed. The number of deaths also increased in Antelope and Nance counties.
Current case totals reported Tuesday by DHHS in surrounding counties were: Antelope (365 total, 60 in last 14 days, four deaths), Greeley (146 total, 30 in past 14 days, no deaths), Nance (320 total, 74 in past 14 days, four deaths), Platte (3,282 total, 317 in past 14 days, 32 deaths), Madison (3,388 total, 474 in past 14 days, 29 deaths), and Wheeler (18 cases, six in past 14 days, no deaths).
