Power was out briefly due to wind

Boone Central Middle School students used their cell phone lights to study during the power outage.
On Friday morning, Jan. 15, heavy winds caused a brief power outage in Petersburg.
Classrooms temporarily went dark at Boone Central Middle School when heavy winds blew a tree branch down on one of the power lines in town.
Students and staff handled the adversity well, using lights from their cell phones to continue with their work.
Loup Power District was on the scene quickly and restored power in about 35 minutes.
