Following a challenging trek, including blizzard conditions and a flat tire, Vicar Elizabeth Goehring, together with Tim Peterson, her husband of 38 years, and two sons, Dylan and Joshua, are all moved into the parsonage at Immanuel Zion (IZ) Lutheran Church, rural Albion, to begin her new duties there.
Vicar Elizabeth, as she prefers to be addressed, finishes classwork this semester and is on track to graduate in May of 2022. At that time, she will be eligible to be called and ordained as an Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) pastor. Currently, she also serves the ELCA congregation of Zion Lutheran in Albion.
