County to seek bids on concrete road projects

Concrete repairs are planned for several deteriorated asphalt roads, including this portion of Fairgrounds Road.
Boone County Commissioners on Monday authorized bid-letting for several potential concrete paving projects on county roads.
Brian McDonald, engineer with JEO Consulting Group, reported that he will be finishing plans for the projects this week in order to start the bid advertisements on March 24.
Commissioners expect to consider the bids in April.
Projects on the list to be advertised include:
• Milling/resurfacing, approximately one mile of Country Club Road from Highway 91 and 260th Street, and on Fairgrounds Road between Highway 91 and 240th Street.
• Milling/resurfacing, approximately one-half mile, on 260th Street between Country Club Road and 11th Street.
• Milling/resurfacing, approximately one mile, on 265th Street (Cemetery Road) between Highway Spur 6A and Sixth Street, south of Albion.
• Milling/resurfacing, about 1.25 miles, on 220th Avenue between Highway 14 and Old Mill Road.
Not included in these bids is the concrete overlay on 145th Street, west one mile from the Highway 14 intersection in Petersburg. McDonald said this could be added, based on bids for the other projects.
