Commissioners appoint Sarah Robinson as County Clerk

Sarah Robinson of Cedar Rapids was appointed Monday to become Boone County Clerk with the resignation of Kathy Thorberg from the position effective this Friday, April 30.
Sarah became an office assistant in the clerk’s office in 2014 after completing her associate degree at Southeast Community College while working her way through school. She grew up in the St. Paul area and graduated from St. Paul High School in 2008.
Sarah and her husband, Ryan, live in Cedar Rapids with their two children, Reagan, 4 1/2, and Flynn, one year old. Ryan is employed by Applied Connective Technologies.
Mrs. Thorberg submitted her resignation to the County Commissioners on April 12. She has served in the clerk’s office for more than 37 years.
Commissioners are planning a retirement open house in Mrs. Thorberg’s honor this Friday, April 30, at 3 p.m. in the courthouse.
