Lisa Schumacher will be moving back to familiar territory when she takes over as principal of St. Boniface and Pope John XXIII Central Catholic schools in Elgin this summer.
She grew up in Elgin and attended and graduated from both St. Boniface and Pope John.
Lisa is now beginning her 30th year in Catholic education. The first 29 years were spent as a teacher and administrator at St. Michael’s School in Albion.
It has been a very positive experience, she said, adding that she appreciates everyone involved in helping St. Michael’s successfully fulfill its role over the past three decades. She arrived at St. Michael’s in 1992 as a math and science teacher, and became principal in 2008. She’s seen many changes along the way.
