The Albion Cornerstone Legion Juniors opened the 2021 summer baseball season about as well as you can do it Tuesday, May 25, blanking visiting Ord 12-0 at Leon Nelson Memorial Field (Albion Sports Complex).
Not only did Cornerstone shut out the visitors, two Albion pitchers combined on a five-inning no-hitter in the season’s first game. Pitchers Trent Patzel and Caden Stokes dominated the Ord lineup.
Albion Cornerstone Legion Seniors followed up with a no-hit win of their own by the same 12-0 score against Ord. Combining for the Seniors no-hitter were pitchers Kyle Preister and Calvin Webster.
