Newman Grove’s Shell Creek Valley Days featured a wide variety of activities last weekend.
One of the special events associated with the Double S Extreme Bullriding on Saturday night was chute bulldogging, where contestants attempted to wrestle a steer to the ground.
Above, Luke Swanson of Newman Grove made a strong attempt but was unable to take the steer off its feet.
The busy summer schedule continues this Saturday with the annual Cruise Night events at Petersburg, stock dog trials at the Boone County Ag & Education Center, and Cops & Bobbers fishing tournament at Stevenson’s Lake.
