Joey L. VanMeter

Joey Lee VanMeter, 60, of St. Edward, died Monday, June 21, 2021 at the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in St. Edward.
Joey, son of Ronald and Mathilde “Tillie” VanMeter, was born on Sept. 12, 1960 in Albion. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Edward Catholic Church. Joey attended school and graduated from St. Edward High School in 1979.
Joey is survived by his three children: Joey (Krystal) Donnelly of Genoa, Jessica (Odie) McKown of Albion and Jeanie (Trey) Frauendorfer of Newman Grove, five grandchildren: Janey, Jocelyn, Jacob, Chaysen and Daxtyn, three brothers: Ralph (Sabine) VanMeter of Badsoden, Germany, Dennis VanMeter of Primrose and Mike VanMeter of St. Edward, sister Tammy (Gary) Iburg of Belgrade, along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Kim VanMeter.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, June 25, 2021 at St. Edward Catholic Church with Rev. Bill L’Heureux officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery, St. Edward with Military Rites conducted by Crosier American Legion Post 226 of St. Edward, Army Funeral Honor Guard, and American Legion Riders.
Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St. Edward was in charge of the arrangements.
