Fair had excellent attendance

Sawyer Brown performed on July 13 at the Boone County Fair.
Excellent attendance and participation were highlights of the 2021 Boone County Fair, July 10-12.
“I’m very pleased with our numbers,” said Fair Board President Dave Noble. “We had good attendance and good participation at most all of our events this year.”
The only drawback was a rain shower on Saturday, July 10, that created muddy conditions on the track and forced cancellation of the fair tractor pull.
Weather conditions were sunny and mild for the remainder of the fair.
All fair events on Sunday had outstanding attendance and participation. That included the community church service, fair parade and kids pedal tractor pull.
A standing room only crowd of more than 3,000 was on hand for the Tanner Pelster Memorial and Malvern Bank Super Late Model races Sunday night. With some 135 cars entered, racing lasted until after 1 a.m.
Monster Truck League racing on Monday night had about 1,800 in attendance, with five monster trucks competing.
Sawyer Brown and special guest Parmalee attracted the biggest concert crowd in recent years for the country music concert on Tuesday night. More than 2,600 people attended the concert and gave it positive reviews.
