Fred O. Becker

Fred Otto Becker, 91, of Albion, died Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Society in Albion.
Fred, son of Otto and Ellen H. (Filsinger) Becker, was born on Aug. 16, 1929, on the family farm near Cedar Rapids. He was baptized on Sept. 15, 1929, and later confirmed on June 13, 1943 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Albion by J.H. Beckmann.
Fred is survived by his wife of 60 years Dorothey of Albion, four daughters: Kathryn (Rodney) Lentz of Hartington, Charlene (Dennis) Wilson of Columbus, Doreen (Albert) Bader of Albion and Denise (Jon) Hall of Albion, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion with Rev. Carolann Hopcke officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by American Legion Post 162 and VFW Post 736 of Albion, the Army Funeral Honor Guard and the American Legion Riders. A visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
