Population numbers for counties and towns in Nebraska were announced recently in a report by the University of Nebraska at Omaha Center for Public Affairs.
While the report generally showed losses for rural Nebraska counties, some Boone County area towns gained population between the 2010 and 2020 Census counts.
The report, called Nebraska Incorporated Place Census Populations with Changes and Percent Changes, was prepared by David Drozd of UNO.
Area communities gaining population, according to the report, were Albion, Elgin, Lindsay and St. Edward.
