Concrete plant in place for future paving

In preparation for paving of county roads in the Albion area, a concrete plant owned by Beatrice Concrete Co. has been set up on property owned by JSMM Farms southwest of the Albion Country Club. The plant will supply concrete for A & R Construction, Plainview, which has contracted with Boone County to begin concrete paving of roads in the Albion area.
Some preparation work and culvert extensions will be done this fall, but paving will likely not be done until the spring of 2022, according to Jason Aschoff of A & R Construction.
County roads to be paved include 265th Street (Cemetery Road) from Highway 14 to Sixth Street, approximately one mile; Country Club Road from Highway 91 to 260th Street; Fairgrounds Road from Highway 91 to 260th Street, 260th Street from Country Club Road to the Albion city limit, and 220th Avenue (Airport Road) between Highway 14 and Old Mill Road. The total contract is $2,433,135 for about 3.5 miles of paving.
