‘Sonic Escape’ will perform here Sunday

Albion Area Arts Council will present a concert by the exciting and imaginative flute/violin duo, Sonic Escape, on Sunday, October 24th, at 3 p.m. in the Boone Central Performance Gym in Albion.  Sonic Escape will perform for students from Boone Central and St. Michael’s the following morning
Sonic Escape features Maria Kaneko Millar (violin) and Shawn Wyckoff (flute), a pair of Juilliard graduates whose blend of hyper-instrumentals, stories, moves and original works has been described by the Washington Post as “wonderfully imaginative… with a wide-ranging, anything-goes sense of fun.”
Shawn and Maria met at the Julliard School. They founded Sonic Escape in 2009. Armed with flute and violin, their game plan – use hyper-instrumentals to fill hearts with joy – has landed them on hundreds of stages across more than 40 North American states, provinces and beyond.
