Stuhlmiller nearly finished with first PA clinic rotation at BCHC

Shannon Stuhlmiller, left, with her PA mentor Sandra Henry, PA-C, at Boone County Health Center.
Shannon Stuhlmiller, Albion native, is enjoying her learning experience back home at Boone County Health Center.
She is nearing the end of her first three-month clinical experience in the Physician Assistant program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, working primarily with Sandra Henry, PA-C, and also with Courtney Ruzek, Laura Klassen and Jason Olnes.
“All of the medical staff have been open to giving me learning experiences, and that has been great,” she said. “I’ve been fortunate to get three months here.”
The current clinical at BCHC will end Dec. 15, and Shannon will then move on to 11 more four-week rotations in various specialties at facilities in Hastings, York, Kearney, Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island and possibly others.
A health issue Shannon experienced in her younger days influenced her to choose a career in medicine.
