Planning Board recommends annexation areas

Land area could expand for the City of Albion in the future, and if so, it would include five specific areas bordering the city limits.
The Albion Planning Commissioners approved a motion Tuesday night, Dec. 7, to recommend the five areas for annexation to the Albion City Council.
Albion residents were invited to attend the December planning board meeting to comment on the annexation plan, but no comments were received.
The City Council will have the final word on the annexation, likely at its January 2022 regular meeting.
In approving annexation, the city would be required to develop a plan within one year for providing city water and sewer utilities to residences and businesses in the newly annexed areas.
