Gayland “Putt” L. Kolm, 79, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2022 at the Boone County Health Center, Albion. He will be missed by his wife Pat of Cedar Rapids, four children: Dave of Elgin, Kristine (Tom) Pennisi of Norfolk, Deanna (Kevin) Kruse of Albion and Allen (Metka) of Norfolk, nine grandchildren: Paige (Dylan) Weiser of Palmer, Seth (Kelsie) Kolm of Norfolk, Aaron (Taylor) Kolm of Madison, Kyra and Nolan Kruse of Albion, Maddie and Dylan Kolm of Elgin, Kyler and Mariah Kolm of Norfolk, five great grandchildren: Josh, Everly, and Emma Kolm, Cam and Redden Weiser, brother Ron (Mary Ellen) Kolm of Fremont, along with many other relatives and friends.
Putt is preceded in death by his parents, brother Michael Kolm and nieces: Tracey and Karrie.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 7, 2022 at 2 p.m., at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids with Pastor Mick Goc officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Military Rites will be conducted by the Dan Cox American Legion Post 44 of Cedar Rapids, and the Army Funeral Honor Guard.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the church.
