Time capsule preserved at Petersburg school

A time capsule, encased in a cornerstone of the 1929 Petersburg school building, was recovered Wednesday, Jan. 12, by Craig Bygland during the process of demolition.
Members of the Petersburg Industrial Development Corp. (PIDC) and Boone Central School Board decided the capsule, which is soldered shut, will be kept by PIDC in Petersburg, and that a future date and time would be set for opening the capsule. That event will be open to the public.
