Roberta Marisch has been hired to replace her in the position.
Kathy was a volunteer secretary for two years before being officially hired as the office manager. The school was just beginning to get computers at that time. They used Apple IIe computers with floppy disks.
“I remember the third and fourth graders playing Oregon Trail on them,” she said. “A lot has changed with technology in the past 30 years!”
She said she enjoyed being a part of the school environment with duties that included ordering supplies, creating forms, scheduling conferences, doing recess duty, preparing the monthly calendars and newsletters, lunchroom checkoff, taking care of sick students, preparing the alumni newsletter, fundraising and whatever else that was needed.
“I will miss working with St. Michael’s staff and watching the students grow,” she said. “Greeting the preschoolers each day and seeing their excitement for school was a joy!”
She expressed appreciation to St. Michael’s School families and staff, the parish and Albion community for support. She looks forward to spending time gardening, crafting, traveling, and helping on the farm in retirement.
