Card harriers win at West Holt

Improving, improving, improving. On schedule to reach their peak at just the right time.
Boone Central’s cross country runners continued their progress Thursday, with the Cardinal boys winning the West Holt Invitational at Atkinson and the Boone girls giving another solid effort.
Led by a trio of medalsists – Zander Jarecki (3rd), Logan Spence (5th) and Giles Deeder (14th) – the Card boys finished five points clear of Class C Top 10 Ord.
“The boys team ran great, and it showed. We have boys cutting time off each week and competing with tough teams,” praised Boone Coach Justin Harris. “West Holt is #6 in Class D and Ord is #10 in C. Zander and Logan ran smart races to finish third and fifth, respectively.
“The girls need to get the whole team healthy, as they are making progress. Kaylee (Miller) and Sydney (Spangler) also medaled. The junior high wrapped up their seasons. The girls were first or second in every meet this year and the boys improved, with a medalist in every meet. We’re excited to see how these kids can help at the high school level next year.”
