Austin Lanier
The importance of building character and forming strong values in a complex time was emphasized to Boone Central Middle School students during their annual character development retreat Monday, Oct. 24, at the Event Center on the Boone County Fairgrounds.
Austin Lanier of Houston, TX, shared his personal experiences with an identity crisis, anxiety and even drug addiction with his audience of seventh and eighth graders.
He spoke to seventh and eighth graders about the negative impact of peer pressure, alcohol and drugs, bullying, and many other behaviors that students often experience. He advised them to follow their dreams despite what others might say.
