Mark “Curly” Steven Johnson, 69, of Newman Grove, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, at his home in Newman Grove. Curly is survived by his mother Margaret O. Johnson of Newman Grove, brothers: David C. (Connie) Johnson of Newman Grove, Randy C. (Nancy) Johnson of Columbus and Scott H. Johnson of St. Edward, nephews: Adam (Erica) Johnson of Humphrey, Mitchell (Melissa) Johnson of Newman Grove and Chase (Pascal) Johnson of Columbus, nieces: Jennifer (Tate) Vanicek of Lincoln, Jill (Andrius) Knasas of Columbia, SC, Lynn (Dan) Benzing of Lincoln and Amber (Gabe) Hammer of Pierce, three aunts: Connie (Paul) Hogen of Northwood, IA, Virginia Stenseth and Shirley Stenseth both of Albert Lea, MN, as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father Harris C. Johnson in 2015 and brother Kevin “Trapper” H. Johnson in 1980.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Newman Grove with Pastor Claire Meyer officiating. Burial followed at Trinity–West Cemetery near Newman Grove.
