Power line is being replaced from Albion to Loretto

Cornhusker Public Power District crews are replacing power poles and lines from Albion to Loretto in a two-phase project that began last week. The first phase now underway is four miles from Albion to the Albion Airport, and the second phase will be from the airport to Loretto.
The total project area is six miles, and a total of 106 new poles will be set, according to CPPD manager John Kaup and Neal Faltys, CPPD director of engineering and planning. Upgraded electric cable will also be used.
Completion is expected by late spring. The original section of this line was installed in the early 1950s. Kaup said projects like this one are typically done in the winter to avoid damaging crops during the growing season.
