A special quilt was hung in a place of honor during the annual fund-raising chili feed sponsored by American Legion Riders Post 162 last Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Albion Veterans Club.
This quilt saluted America’s veterans who were prisoners of war or are mising in action. It includes squares saluting each branch of U.S. military service surrounding the American Flag and an eagle in the center.
This quilt was one of several items given away in a raffle at the event. It required many hours of work by seamstress Mary Voss of Columbus, with assistance from Janet Breitkreutz of Columbus. Both donated their time in making the quilt.
Dan Gaunt of St. Edward, a member of the American Legion Riders Post, donated all supplies for the quilt project.
