Hundreds of thousands of light geese were migrating through the Boone County area last week.
At right, a large group of light geese was feeding in a field southeast of Albion last Friday.
The light goose population includes snow, blue and Ross’s geese in Nebraska. The snow goose population has increased dramatically over the past several decades.
The photo above was taken by Jenni Grape in a field southeast of Albion. Other large groups have been cited near Petersburg, Newman Grove and many other area towns.
