Commissioners, planning board to continue processing zoning apps

Boone County Commissioners and Planning Commission Chairman Mark Wagner will be handling duties of the County Zoning Administrator until a new administrator can be hired.
Commissioners approved this action at their meeting Wednesday, March 29, in order to avoid delays in processing current applications.
The zoning administrator’s position has been open since Mary Ziemba announced she was leaving the post to retire on March 20.
The county is now advertising the available full time position as zoning administrator and road department office assistant, and seeking a permanent replacement.
Commission Chairman Larry Temme said there were five county building permit applications waiting to be processed as of last Wednesday. No conditional use permits were pending as of Wednesday.
Applications for building and zoning permits will be available at the County Clerk’s office until the zoning position is staffed.
