Top state awards abundant for Boone Central FFA

Boone Central FFA Chapter earned a wide variety of awards, including four individual and team championships and a state runner-up finish, in competition at the 95th Nebraska State FFA Convention last week.
“Boone Central FFA members competed very well,” said advisor Abby Hitchler. “The chapter is very proud of their accomplishments and is looking forward to the upcoming spring banquet.”
State Champions
Boone Central members emerging as state champions were:
• Bella Meyer in Senior Public Speaking;
• Garrett Rasmussen, Proficiency Application in Landscape Management;
• Britney Naber and Melany Preister, Agriscience Fair – Animal Systems, Division 6,
• Kate Maricle and Bethany Preister, Agriscience Fair – Social Systems, Division 2.
State Runners-Up
Earning a state runner-up title was the Poultry Evaluation team of Brant Benes, Brogan Benes, Cody Andreasen and Alex Christo.
Cassidy Maricle was second in Sheep Production Entrepreneurship, and Brant Benes was third in Beef Production Placement.
State FFA Degrees
Four Boone Central seniors – Owen Dodds, Kevin Haase, Addy Donelson and Macy Rankin – received their State FFA degrees at this year’s convention.
