Cardinals host delayed Boone Central Golf Invite

The Cardinal boys golf program hosted the Boone Central Invitational, postponed by inclement weather this past Saturday, on a beautiful Monday at the Albion Country Club.
Boone Central (397) placed sixth in the 10-team field, with the Cardinal JV (397) one position back in seventh.
Junior Thane Hardwick paced the Cards with an 18-hole 10 over-par 82, good for seventh among meet medalists. Two Boone Central JV players finished in the individual top 20 – Kyler Buck (92) in 16th and Peyton Westerman (93) in a tie for 17th. Riley Nelson (96) was the final Cardinal to break 100, finishing tied at 24th.
Tournament gold medalist Max Fremarek (74) led Lakeview (329) to the team championship. Ord (355) placed second and Norfolk Catholic (358) third. Luke Beckman (75) of Battle Creek, Wayne’s Bo Armstrong (76) and Kurt Schneider (78) of Lakeview also carded scores below 80 in the competition.
