Prior to the 2023 American Legion baseball season, Albion Cornerstone Legion Coach Andy Bird said he felt his Senior squad had the ability to challenge for an area tournament championship and qualify for the Class B state tournament.
Early results would indicate Bird’s optimism and confidence was justified.
Although Albion Cornerstone lost its first game of the young 2023 season Saturday in the Cornerstone Bank Tournament at Columbus, the Seniors bounced right back to sweep a pair of contests Sunday. Albion Cornerstone, overall, was 3-1 in the tourney and have a 6-1 record to begin the summer campaign.
