Boone Central is making strides.
The Cardinal cross country teams competed in the annual Norfolk Catholic Invitational at Skyview Lake Friday and turned in some excellent early-season performances.
Logan Spence (5th) and Micah Cuevas (9th) had top 10 finishes, helping boost the Boone Central boys to 3rd place in the team standings. Kassidy Beister (9th) and Brynn Petersen (13th) were medalists for the Lady Cardinals.
“The girls ran very well today. Kassidy and Brynn led with top 15 finishes, but a large time improvement by Cali Stokes gave them an extra booost,” said Boone Coach Stacy Petersen. “I’m pleased with the way our girls ran together and improved where our 4th, 5th and 6th runners finished.
“Logan put in a strong effort and Micah was right behind him. The 5th place team finish is something to celebrate, but I’m anticipating this group to continue improving and advance throughout the season … expect the performance of this team to keep getting better.”
