I’m a big fan of forgiveness and grace – I have to be, I’m a newspaper publisher. I’ll be the first one to admit that I – occasionally – make mistakes, perhaps more than occasionally, but the problem with my mistakes is that they’re rarely private things I can sweep under the rug.

Child care has changed considerably through the years, and I can certainly see the difference in generations from where our own children were small until now. I’m not sure that we, as parents, were as concerned about child care 50 years ago as parents are today.

Boone County has some great things going for it, but it also has some big challenges. One of the important challenges is filling critically important positions -- both paid positions and those held by volunteers.
