Boone County Foundation Fund Advisory Committee announced this week it has awarded $22,010 to 15 county nonprofit organizations for 2024. This total represents an increase of more than $5,000 from last year’s total of $17,000.

The Alda Lehr Scholarship of $1,500 has been awarded to Taylor Beierman, daughter of Kent and Jane Beierman. The alternate is Natalie Schrad, daughter of Steve and Kris Schrad.

Boone Central High School’s graduating seniors collected a wide variety of academic and activity awards during Honors Night last Thursday, May 9. The class of 2024 set the bar high in many categories.

It was a circus atmosphere at the Boone Central Gym last Friday, May 3, when the elementary students performed their annual spring music program “Welcome to the Boone Central Circus.” This event was moved into the competition gym and featured preschool through fourth grade. It all started with a “Circus Parade” and “The Circus is Coming” by K-4 students, followed by the singing of the Star Spangled Banner.
