It was supposed to be a comfy, controlled environment for teams to work out the kinks in their first track/field competition of 2024. Saturday’s Wayne State College Indoor Invite was flipped outside, however, and competitors braved the conditions, just as Nebraska athletes are conditioned to do.

As I write this, it’s a little chilly at 34 degrees, so hard to believe it’s time for the spring sports season but here it is. The Boone Central boys golf team is ready to hit the links and see if they have what it takes to qualify several for the state tournament in May.

Chargers hope to repeat track/field success

With a solid core of letterwinners and four returning state qualifiers, Riverside enters the spring optimistic of its potential for the upcoming 2024 track and field season. Charger Coach LaTravia Dobson and assistants Dan Wolken, Cory Valacek and Samuel Polk will have nine returning letterwinners on the girls team and six for the boys squad, a solid base for a Class D program.

St. Edward preps for ‘24 spring season

The St Edward High School track/field teams are getting warmed up for the start of the season, which will be here before we know it. Coach Tyler Gray, along with assistant coaches Melissa McIntosh and Clete Arasmith, return four seniors this season along with four juniors.

Cardinal track/field teams to open 2024 at WSC indoor invite

Boone Central will get a jump on the 2024 track and field season at the Wayne State College Indoor Invite Saturday, March 16. The Cardinals will have over 30 girls and boys returning varsity athletes, along with newcomers, competing under the direction of Boone Central Coach Susan Roberts and assistants Nolan Vandenburg, Tim Rossow, Stacy Petersen, Trevor Korte and Joe Brugger in 2024.
